AUTOMATON
AUTOMATON is a sonic and visual exploration of automation in many forms. The piece brings together Levi's unique and intricate approach to the saxophone with his recent project of building automata and rudimentary sonic sculptures by hand. Text is written by Levi and includes an excerpt from John Ashbury's poem, "Clepsydra." AUTOMATON examines the interplay between humanity and technology with special attention to the ways in which modern automation is used as a tool of oppression by extractive and parasitic corporations and government.
