Wuhan Series

This watercolor series is a collection of stories I recall from my high school years in Wuhan, a city now known for the outbreak of the pandemic. In agony and nostalgia, I feel an impulse to visualize what I see through my dreams and fantasies but also the myriad news. The city in my memory is always vibrant, colorful and mysterious and sometimes toned with a sense of melancholy and darkness. In this train of thoughts, I made three watercolor works in response to the old and new image of Wuhan.

A Chinese Dream

A work based on my dreams I had as a Chinese student from Wuhan during the pandemic.
